Our Pastor

Pastor Catherine Mode is a graduate of

Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and

Trinity Seminary in Columbus, Ohio.  Prior to

seminary, she served for seven years as a

Christian Education and Youth director in

churches in Wisconsin and Colorado.

Pastor Mode says that evangelism and

outreach are her organizing principles for

ministry.  She has served as a Partner in

Evangelism for ELCA and on the ELCA Division for Outreach Board.

Her first call was to be a Pastor Developer of a new congregation, All Saints Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, WI.  While serving that congregation for eleven years, Pastor Mode knocked on doors, led worship under the basketball hoops in a gym, lived through a building program, established a deaf ministry and generally tried to keep up with a lively congregation with a passion for the gospel.

Since the fall of 1996, she has served as the Administrative Pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Neenah, Wisconsin.  She believes that all baptized members are the 'ministers' of the church.  During her time with the congregation, ministry and worship opportunites have blossomed and flourished.

Pastor Mode likes to say that 'Our Savior's is a 140-year-old congregation with a contemporary feel and a small town church with a world-wide ministry.'  She also wants you to know that we are a thriving, busy congregation with lots to offer.  She says, 'Our hope is that you will deepen your faith and broaden your understanding of what it means to be a loved child of God.'

Recently, the congregation dedicated a new office wing in 2010 and has continued to renovate and update, especially in the area of technology.  Our Savior's has also welcomed Hands of Christ, a worshiping deaf community, into their ministry.

Pastor Mode's greatest adventures have been with her geologist husband, Bill.  Her children, Andrea and Sam, provide her greatest joys.
